It is getting close to harvest and back to school time, so a bunch of us did something we had wanted to do all for at least a couple summers now, and we went to the Rider game. Since we only bought tickets last week, our seats were in the temporary seating that they have installed this year for the Grey Cup game in November. The temporary seats look a lot like scaffolding but as long as everyone is sitting and not moving, the stands don’t move either. But when everyone starts leaving after the game, the stands start wiggling a bit which is mildly scary.
Enough about the stands, though. It was a beautiful day for a game – mid-upper twenties, a cloud cover and a light breeze. If there had been no clouds, I am pretty sure if would have been scorchingly hot. The game was decent (good defence, but that means it is kind of boring to watch because the offence can’t get anything going), until the last two minutes when it got extra exciting. Riders won in the end, which is always nice, and even though the game was not the most exciting one ever, it was still fun to dress in the same colour as forty thousand other people and watch the game in real life.
