Shelter?

It snowed here again today, kind of like the other weekend.  It all stuck to the roads, made driving treacherous, and looked really nice.  Now everything is covered in a nice, fluffy white blanket.  Too bad the roads are also under that blanket.  I would imagine that tomorrow it will be excessively salted again and all will go back to normal.

It wasn’t terribly cold or windy, but the snow was quite wet so the cows stayed inside.  Except for the heifers and dry cows which are outside.  You’d think if you were getting covered in a layer of wet snow, that kind of turns to ice, that you would seek shelter.  Not these girls.  Apparently it is fun to stand not under their shelter and become covered with snow.  Only the bull was wise enough to go lay in the straw under the shelter.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.
