When I was still in AWANA, we got this fake money called AWANA dollars.  Actually, the kids today still do get them for things like being on the winning team, or having the most creative costume for theme nights, or even just participating in said theme nights.  I saved all my dollars for a long time.  Years, in fact.  There was a catalogue of things that you could buy with them and I wanted the gym bag.  We could spend them at the ‘store’ where you could buy candy, and pens and such, but I resisted that temptation for a long time, until I had saved up enough to buy that gym bag.  I finally had enough, with a little bit left over to buy a set of four colourful pens.  Red, yellow, green and blue.

Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that the pens were not actually those colours in ink.  Only blue ink.  Just the outside was colourful.  Boooo.  So now I am in charge of the ‘store’ and I made sure when I bought the pens for the store that I bought pens that were the colours inside that the outside said they were.  It was pretty easy to tell that these pens told the truth since you can see the ink colours.  Much easier than testing them all.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.
