Sunflowers

We tried to grow a field sunflowers one time.  Actually, it was called sunwheat for some reason.  It didn’t do so well for us, although other people still grow it in places in this province and in other provinces.  Maybe they don’t have the problem of army worms eating all the plants like we did.  It does look really nice in the field when all the flowers are yellow in late summer and early fall.

It looks equally pretty in smaller form in bouquets in Safeway.  I think it seems like a very fall flower, and evidently, so do the flower arrangers at Safeway, because the bouquet that they are in is full of dark red and orange flowers.  The sunflowers are the best part.  Now, if only I could somehow get sunflower seeds out of these two flowers.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.
