We have a flock of pigeons that hang around the yard. They really like to fly up to the top of the silo and sit there, or sit in the rafters in the hay shelter, and hoot, or coo, or whatever it is it they do, just to annoy the dog, who can see them up there but cannot reach them. When she was a few years younger she would climb up to the top of the bales and run around up there trying to reach them. Then they would just fly out the door, probably laughing at her.
The ones we have now have developed a habit of flying into the shop when the door is open and sitting in there. They even try to do it sneakily. We would prefer if they stayed out, but for some reason they are obsessed with flying in and then making a mess. Dumb birds. They’ve never tried to fly in there before. If only they would just leave behind feathers like this it wouldn’t be such a big problem.
