We can check another crop off of our list of things to harvest. The wheat (should be) finished tonight. Barring any sort of combine trouble, Dad should have finished the last few rounds pretty quick. And, of course, it is supposed to freeze tonight, although apparently all of our crops are far enough along that it shouldn’t affect them, so it is nice to not have that stress. Now we have some lentils, barley, oats and triticale left. Seems like a lot of things, but there is not a huge amount of any of them.
This week is such a weather change from last week. It was so hot last week, with barely any wind, so it was hard to park the truck so that the slight breeze could blow through and kind of make it a little cooler. Today I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt, and had the truck parked facing the sun with the windows rolled up. It was pretty chilly, so I decided to not even leave the truck to take a picture, but just to use a cool angle on the circular mirror. It doesn’t look that cold outside, but it sure felt like fall is here now.
