It was a very warm day out today.  Plus it was very still.  There was almost no wind, and so it felt really sticky and it was not very fun to be outside.  So I spent the afternoon inside, mostly in my bed, and watched the thunderstorm come closer and closer.  When it is so still and yucky outside, I am always kind of nervous that we will get a wicked storm, with hail and rain, and maybe tornadoes, but except for one bolt of lightning that I was pretty sure came pretty close, followed by a REALLY loud thunderclap, it was a pretty tame storm.

As it moved off into the west, the sun was at the perfect place to produce a beautiful rainbow.  So I hopped in the truck, and headed off to find a good vantage point.  There was a full rainbow for about 15 seconds, and then it went back to being a half.  There was also a faint double rainbow.  It is funny how the huge wind towers look so teensy next to a massive rainbow.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.

I really like the sense of scale of the first image.
