It is nice to be back home where the sky is clear. Even when it was sunny down in Minnesota, there was a haze in the air. We were 2 hours away from Minneapolis, so I don’t think it was smog, and it didn’t smell like forest fire smoke, which is usually what it smells like here when it gets hazy in summer. The only thing we could think of was that it was so hot that it created its own haze from all that water evaporating off the fields and that was why it was so humid. I have no idea if this is true or not. That may just be what it is like there in the summer.
Since it is supposed to rain tomorrow, we spent most of the day baling the hay that got cut before I left last week. It had been too damp until now. So I got to spend the day on the new tractor, trying to get it all baled before the sun went down and everything got too damp again. I finished just as the sun was setting, giving the bales a pretty pinkish colour.
