Summer fruit

The time for apples, oranges and bananas has passed.  Really, that is about all the fruit you can get around here in the winter.  You can buy other things, like kiwis or pineapple, from time to time if it is on sale, but otherwise those kinds of things are kind of expensive.  Or they are picked really green so that they ripen here, in theory, but they usually end up going bad before they are ripe enough to eat.

Now, however, it is summer, and that means summer fruit.  Nectarines, plums, apricots, berries and peaches are all starting to pop up in the grocery store, and once the fruit truck from BC makes an appearance, that is where I will be buying mine.  Since I have eaten some of what I bought on Tuesday, thinking it would last me until next week.  I was mistaken, so my mom bought me some more today.  Including watermelon.  Now I just need roll kuchen.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.
