I loved rocks years ago. We would collect them out in the field when we were out there with the truck, or on the three wheeler, or just wandering around the yard. The black and pink sparkly ones were the best. Probably because they were sparkly. Others that were in high demand were ones that were really smooth and perhaps striped. We actually had two different rock piles on the yard, and even a pet rock named Darby, since we had a baby cousin named Darby at that point in time. There are even pictures to document the Darby rock obsession.
The other day we were out doing some gopher control on the field, and there was a little runoff river running down one of the valleys There was a bunch of rocks that the water was running over, and of course I had to stop and go through the rocks. There was a few cool ones, and ones that were becoming cool by virtue of the water smoothing them out and such, but the best one was a pink and white one. I am quite sure it is just quartz, or whatever, but I find it quite interesting.
