I have been on a strawberry kick lately, mostly because the berries have been on sale quite a few times these last few months, which is good, since strawberries are probably the best berry ever created. See here, here, here and here for evidence of my recent preoccupation with them. I am intending to plant my own strawberry plants in my garden this summer, if the lake in my garden ever goes away. My grandma had strawberries here, but they became overgrown once my grandparents moved, and we tilled them under. Of course, my grandma has quite green thumb, so we shall see if I will be successful.
The most recent creation with strawberries was these cupcakes. They are really good, so it is likely an excellent thing that I only made a half recipe for our AWANA windup tonight or I would have way too many left over tempting me in my kitchen. I had never made that type of frosting before, since it seemed like it would be really buttery, but it is a really tasty, smooth, airy frosting, probably because you have to whip it for so long. I think next time I would add some more strawberries to the frosting, just to intensify the strawberry flavor, since it was kind of mild for me. But still, must…resist…temptation…to…eat…more.
