The big thaw

It is really nice to have the sun back.  It feels like spring, and it is starting to look like it too.  The snow is starting to melt into slush and mud, which is ok, because it means it is warmer than -10 outside! Hooray!  We have a long way to go yet before we can see over the snow piles lining the roads, and just as long to go before we can drive on those roads after 10am, since they are so soft.  But we will take what we can get.

Remember these snow piles?  Even though they had kind of started to go away, the storm last week only increased their size.  They are now much wider and a little taller.  The road in on section is just opened wide enough to drive down, and you better hope you don’t meet anyone.  I did want to take this picture there, but wasn’t willing to risk anyone coming over the hill top.  This part is a little wider, but you get the general idea of the amount of snow that still needs to melt.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.
