Perfect snowfall

It snowed pretty much perfectly yesterday, all day.  Basically no wind, just snow falling straight down.  It would be nice if there were some sort of ceiling over top of the roads though, because even though that snow falls perfectly, it falls onto the roads and stays there.  It isn’t so bad on the paved roads, because it was cold enough that it didn’t stick and become ice, and it blows off from the traffic.  But on the gravel roads, it doesn’t blow off so easily, and it just sits on top of the ruts from the mud last week and disguises the edge of the road.  So unless someone already drove there before you, you just have to hope that you are not near any ditch.

It is sunny again today, which is always nice.  It would likely be a beautiful day outside if one didn’t live in fear of freezing solid by being outside for 5 minutes in -38 degrees with the windchill.  I couldn’t miss the little hats of snow that my lilac bushes got from the snow, so I braved the cold and took a few pictures and hoped they would be good enough.  Happily, they turned out well.

About Kathy

I'm a twenty-something who loves animals, farming, photography and cooking/baking. Luckily enough, photography works really well with the other three subjects, so I carry my camera around practically everywhere. Other than that, my life is pretty uneventful.
